Middle of the month gas price for Gibsons, BC. Part of my collection, now 16 months, of monthly prices. Prices for 2010 seem to be quite stable with no change over last month and only 4.2 cents per litre over the year.
This is quite unlike the first four months of last year when the price rose 14 cents in the first four months. Of course, looking at the data also shows that the price of a litre of gas is now just more than 15% higher than this day last year.
For a classroom activity, there is a fair bit of good data in these sets to play with.

The price of gas...
A number of abnormalities jump out at me from this sign, from my own experience living in Ireland... Diesel is over 10% more expensive than regular gas ( petrol) and there is a higher price charged if you use a credit card. Of course when a gallon of petrol is $2.73 in the US compared with nearly $10.00 in Ireland ( converting it to Dollars) , one has to ask why

The price is up this month. I decided to take the photo from the opposite side of the sign this month in order to catch some of the vegetation instead of the road and stoplight in the photos for January and February.
